In the morning, Amjad saw Apache airplanes throwing at the opposite building. He saw the warships piercing the building of the man who used to greet him every day, saw the smoke, and heard the screaming. Amjad went at night to sleep while thinking about the man and the airplane.

He kept saying to himself while on his bed: Why don’t we have airplanes to throw at their airplanes? He was extremely afraid. In the middle of the night, Amjad screamed, as he saw an Apache airplane in the sky. It was extremely high, higher than all the buildings and trees. He took a stone and threw it at the airplane, but he didn’t hit it. The matter inside him while he was throwing the stone angered the soldier greatly, so he directed the airplane’s machine gun toward Amjad to shoot fire at him.

Amjad feared the sound of the airplane and the machine gun directed at him, and feared the soldier who was closing one eye and opening another, shooting fires at Amjad. Amjad fled and hid behind the wall, but the airplane came from the other side and hovered. He fled again and entered a room. He found it before him, but the soldier in the airplane saw him from the window and shot fire at him.

Amjad went down into a well, and the airplane came from under the well and directed the machine gun at him. Amjad felt he couldn’t escape, as the airplane was surrounding him and pursuing him everywhere. He screamed calling his mother. When he screamed, his mother woke up and embraced him to her, then Amjad woke up from his sleep. He was shivering, and his mother tried to calm him. He told her about the airplane, and she said to him: Don’t be afraid, this is a nightmare. A nightmare is terrifying, but it’s just a dream, nothing more. Amjad slept with his mother, but in the morning, he didn’t go to school, fearing the airplane would follow him there. He remained at home.

After noon, Amjad’s friends came to his house. Amjad was very happy with his friends. His friend Ahmad said: Come, let’s make an airplane and fly it. They brought the sticks and paper and made an airplane with the colors of the Palestinian flag. They waited for the Apache airplane until it appeared high in the sky. Then they launched the paper airplane. Ahmad gave Amjad the airplane thread. Amjad tightened its thread with strength and speed, and the airplane rose slowly, slowly. Amjad’s airplane approached the Apache and flew all together.

There were two airplanes in the sky, one for war and another for play, one for the soldier and one for children. Amjad’s airplane only flew, the war airplane and went higher than it. When he saw that his airplane was higher than the soldier’s airplane, the fear departed from his heart, and he no longer feared the soldier and his airplane. Amjad threw the fear as he throws a paper in the waste basket. From that day, the nightmare didn’t come to Amjad’s sleep.
