There is a famous saying that says: Everything you discover by searching for it already existed before, but you were more arrogant than to see it. In a village on top of high mountains, there was a wise old man living with mountain flowers calmly, and he had much wisdom and knowledge. One time, the wise old man prepared for a journey to the holy Mecca, and during his journeys to holy Mecca, he would meet pilgrims and greet them peacefully with his presence.

He was known to inform everyone with the fortunes he carried in his bag without looking at him big, as he would also inform them of the things he would walk or the people would travel in him, so he was feared by pilgrims, and they would come to him to take fortunes from him and ask him for help in finding the lost fortune for them.

Every one in the village knew about the kindness of this wise old man, so a group of small children decided to play with him and make fun of him so they could mock his fortunes in front of pilgrims and prove to all that he was a deceiver, and one of the boys decided to deceive this wise old man.

And he thought to catch a bird in his hand and hide his back of him, then he asked the wise old man about the thing he carried in his hand, and his trick was whenever the wise old man remembered the thing he used to make fun with him in his hand, that he would burn him on the fire if this bird was on edge of life or dead? If the wise old man said the bird was on edge of life, the boy would catch his bird and eat his bird. And this is proving his mistake.

And if the wise old man escaped and said his bird was dead, he would leave the bird to fly freely in front of all, and in this way he could prove to all that the wise old man was a deceiver and hypocrite, and in the following reason whenever the wise old man came to the village and people gathered around him to examine him in their affairs, he would catch a bird suddenly and small and put him between his back of his hand so the wise old man could not see him.

Then he went to the wise man and said to him: Can you say what is in my hand? So the wise old man answered: You have a bird. Tell me again: Is he dead or alive? So the wise old man answered again: As you choose, escaped the boy with the reply of the wise old man, and learned from his trick and his answer on the suffering with pity matters and that what he does is nothing but deceits or tricks, and therefore all in the village think of him and trust him as liar now. The boy escaped from himself a lot and apologized to the wise man for his deception then left in fear.

Moral value learned from the story: Do not be arrogant from the advice of others especially the great, for they know more than you know. The story is translated from: Wise Old Man Replay
