In winter, a small wind blew over the sea. The wind looked around and saw a vast expanse. It was confused and felt alone. What a worse feeling than loneliness! But alas, when the wind turned a second time, from afar it saw a gray cloud.

The Friendship of the Cloud and the Wind: The cloud approached the wind and said to her, “I carry a lot of water. Push me so I can reach the earth.” The wind agreed immediately and pushed the cloud until we reached the shore. Around the shore were fields, houses, and villages. The cloud said, “Thank you, my friend the wind. Leave me now to let down the rain.”

The Friendship of the Wind, the Sailboat, and the Sailor: The wind left the cloud, and the rain fell down. People raised umbrellas, and people ran in the streets heading to their homes. At the shore, the wind saw a sailboat, so she approached it. The sail inflated, the boat shook, and then it moved quickly. The sailor rejoiced and waved to the wind, “Thank you, my friend.”

The Friendship of the Wind and the Tree: The wind rejoiced with her friend the sailor. She saw a large tree on the shore, so she descended quickly toward it. The tree swayed, the birds that were on the branches flew away, and they chirped in fear. The tree said, “Welcome, O wind… I beg you, be gentle so the nests and baby birds don’t fall!”

The Friendship of the Wind and the Birds: The wind calmed her speed, so the birds returned. She said to herself, “I will be calm and gentle, a garden for the birds.” Then the wind continued her way.

The Wind Over the Green Meadow: Over a green meadow, the wind saw boys carrying kites and wanting to fly them. She approached, raised the kites, the boys unwound the strings from their spools, and the kites rose. They rose very high. The children laughed and ran with their kites.

The Friendship of the Wind, the Children, and the Kites: She rejoiced and repeated, “I am the gentle wind… I am the friend of children and kites. I move everything around me and help others to be happy.” The wind rejoiced with everything around her and rejoiced in her helping others.

The Wonderful World of Friendship: The wind looked around her and saw a world full of people, children, kites, trees, birds, and beautiful creatures. She felt safe and whispered, “The world is full of friends and is beautiful… and I love it very much.”
