It is told that in ancient times, in days of old, there was a dense forest full of green grass. When the morning sun rose, the animals would come out—some would frolic and play in the sunlight and enjoy the beautiful nature, while others searched for food. On one such day, two happy mice came out to enjoy and play, and what happened to them is told as follows.

The two mice play and frolic in the forest with happiness: In a small spot, at the edge of that vast, sprawling forest, under the shade of one of the dense trees, the two mice began playing on the grass and jumping on rocks, with joy, playfulness, and peace of mind.

The arrival of the large snake while they were unaware: While they were playing and frolicking happily, a large snake slithered up while they were unaware and pounced on one of the mice, seizing her with his fangs. He began climbing the tree with her to devour her!

The other mouse’s attempt to save her sister from the large snake’s fangs: In but a moment, the other mouse rushed up the tree, following the large snake, while the first mouse tried to escape him but could not. When the climbing mouse reached the large snake, she began biting his body over and over again with her teeth and fangs, until her bites heated him with wounds, making the large snake writhe in pain.

The mouse’s plan to save her sister and the escape of both mice from the large snake: The snake began plotting to sting her, while the first mouse was still between his jaws. When the biting intensified and the snake was angered by the mouse’s action, he dropped the mouse that was in his mouth and turned to the second one to take revenge on her, so the first mouse escaped. As the large snake turned to the second one, she fled from him at top speed.

The escape of the two mice from the large snake and thanking the Creator for this: Then the two mice met at the base of the tree, while the snake continued to writhe from pain and rage. The mice hid in a safe place and began thanking their Creator for delivering them from this enemy, the large snake.

The two mice pledge to be cautious: The two mice pledged to be cautious next time from the treachery of snakes and from any other enemy that might try to prey on them.
