Some know that the field gives me fruits, but the truth is other than that, the most important thing is patience with it, and working hard on it, but some people do not have patience at all with the field, they only want to eat and play and sleep only. Story of the Locust and His Three Brothers:
Once there was a locust going on his way, and he was eating his grandfather’s field, and his grandfather was going on his way, and he saw the locust eating his field.
The locust said: “O my grandfather, forgive me, I was hungry.” The grandfather said to him: “Do not eat my field, do you hear?” So the locust left the field, but when the grandfather was gone, the locust returned to eat again. In the evening, the grandfather came and found the locust still eating his field, so he asked his three sons to help him drive the locust out of the field. His sons came out to drive the locust away, but the locust spoke to them, saying, “Why do you want to drive me out? Have you come with your grandfather? And if you have come, where is your grandfather?” The locust replied to them, “He has gone, and I do not know where he has gone.” They said: “You are lying, tell us the truth.” He said to them, “I have eaten his field, do you have anything to eat?” So they left and went to their father, saying, “O our father, the locust lies to us. He says that he has eaten your field and asks us if we have anything to eat.” Their father said to them: “It seems he is telling the truth. He has eaten all our wheat and has become very fat. Wait until tomorrow morning, we will take his skin for your mother.” In the morning, the grandfather and his three sons went to the field to take the locust’s skin, but they found the locust very thin, and not even the feathers that he usually had. The grandfather was surprised and asked him what had happened to him. The locust answered: “O my grandfather, your three sons came while I was sleeping and took my skin while I was sleeping.” The grandfather was very angry with his three sons and said to them, “You have done a forbidden thing. Return the skin to the locust now.” They said, “We do not have the skin. It has grown on its own.” So they said to the locust, “O locust, forgive us, for our father has sent us to ask you to return our skin.” The locust laughed at their words and said to them, “I am not angry with anyone, I forgive you.” So they asked him, “What have you done with our grandfather’s wheat that it disappeared in a day?” He said to them, “I have eaten it all. It was my wheat.” Their father said to them, “Do you see? The locust has eaten all the wheat in a day because of your laziness and your weakness.” So they returned home after having learned the lesson of working with effort and patience.
Farmer Joe and his Three Children:
Once there was a farmer called Joe. Farmer Joe used to work very hard. He spent many years growing grains on his field. And he used to sell grains in market, and use money to bring his three sons all what they need. But farmer Joe had grown old and his three sons had turned out to be very lazy, they didn’t do anything useful in their life but eat, play and sleep. So he said to them: Sons why don’t you come with me to field today. You must learn how to dig and how plow fields and how to plant seeds in them. First son said to him: no father we’re busy today. Second said: It’s too hot to work on fields today. Farmer Joe fell very ill, so he said to himself: My sons must learn how to work, children couldn’t stay without doing any work forever. I must do something before it’s too late. Next morning farmer Joe called his son. Sons, I can’t work anymore and all my money is gone, and I will tell you a secret. There is a treasure buried in field, and I do not remember where it is, if you dig field up you’ll be very rich. The sons said: a treasure, we must dig to field right now to take treasure. The three sons then went to field and they spent whole day digging it up, but by time day ended sons hadn’t found anything there. They said: nothing here father’s grown very old he must have been imagining things. Oldest son said: Listen brothers, I have an idea let’s plant some seeds in farm, since we are here now. A few days later sons noticed some crops growing on field. And so three sons worked together to harvest crops and they went to market and sold these crops in exchange for a lot of money. The three sons was very happy and said: we are rich let’s show our father this money. They gone to their father Joe and tell him about their money. He said to them: ah so you finally found lost treasure. The farmer’s sons fell surprised from his word. Farmer Joe said to them: Yes sons your hard work and your collaboration together has helped you find treasure. The three sons thanked their father they understood how their father had cleverly learned them how to hard work was always rewarded, and this is their lost treasure.
