One day, there were three brothers from chickens. One was a cook, the second a carpenter, and the third a bricklayer. The three brothers decided to build houses for themselves to live in.

The three brothers started the decision to build houses and began building. The first decided to build his house from straw, the second decided to build his house from wood, and the third decided to build his house from brick.

Their third brother said to them: My brothers, straw and wood are not suitable for building houses. Straw might collapse from wind, and wood might be affected by rain, thunder, and lightning.

But they didn’t listen to him, and each decided to start building his house alone without helping each other with the other. Indeed, they started building.

Their third brother was pitying them about building their houses, as they were very weak and would be affected by weak influences like heat, rain, winds, thunder, lightning, and any movement that might happen in the atmosphere would affect their houses and might destroy them completely. Also, they wouldn’t protect them from the wolf.

After the building, the first brother finished building his house from straw on the first day of building and kept laughing, saying: I have finished building my house. I am now completely free. I am very happy. He kept releasing his laughter loudly, and his second brother tried to work with extreme speed until he became free like him.

The next day, the second brother finished building his house that he decided to build from wood. He was also happy with building his house and also kept releasing his laughter loudly, as he became free like the other and would rest after this building that lasted two full days. He went to his brothers, saying: I am at the height of my happiness. I have finished building the house. It was hard work that lasted two full days. Now I will only rest. I have finished building the house. I have my own house. I own a new house.

The first brother replied: Congratulations, my brother. Now rest. Your house is very beautiful, but it took you two full days of work, and this is hard work. As for my house, its building took only one day, and this is much better. My brother, wood is much stronger than straw. I am happy with my house.

The third brother entered the conversation, saying: But brick is stronger. You know well that the wolf in those days is close to us, and we must cooperate to build a strong house that the wolf cannot invade. But you didn’t give me your attention. I am afraid for you, my brothers.

The first and second brothers replied: No, the wolf won’t be able to approach our houses. We built them with precision, and the wolf won’t dare to touch them. He left them and didn’t speak to them again.

Until each of them was in his house, the door of the first chicken knocked. He said: Who? It’s me, your brother. Open for me. But the chicken saw the wolf’s body and knew that he wasn’t his brother, so he feared to open for him lest he eat him. He said: No, you are the wolf. I won’t open for you.

The wolf said: If you don’t open the door for me, I will blow on your house and it will collapse. He said to him: You won’t be able to.

So the wolf blew on the house, and the house made of straw fell. The first chicken came out quickly from his house heading toward the house of his second brother. Then the door of the second chicken knocked.

He said: I won’t open for you, you wolf. We two are stronger than you. The wolf said: If you don’t open the door for me, I will blow on your house and it will collapse. He said to him: You won’t be able to.

So the wolf blew on the house, and the house made of wood fell. The first and second chickens came out quickly from the house of the second chicken heading toward the house of their third brother.

Then the door of the third chicken knocked: He said: I won’t open for you, you wolf. We three are stronger than you. The wolf said: If you don’t open the door for me, I will blow on your house and it will collapse. He said to him: You won’t be able to.

So the wolf blew on the house, but it didn’t collapse. He kept trying to blow on it, but it didn’t collapse. He tried to blow it up, but the house was solid and strong because the third chicken had done her work with excellence. The three brothers lived in the house of their third brother made of brick, because the house was strong as it was made with excellence.
