In a village called Sercy, there was a woman who gave birth to twins. They were two beautiful boys with such gentleness that whoever saw them loved them greatly. One of the twins was named Iba and had a white spot on his right hand, and the other was named Saiba and had a white spot on his left hand.
The father and mother were very happy with them and very sad at the same time. You will ask why? Because there was a very bad custom and tradition in the customs and traditions of Sercy of killing twins. The leader of the city of Sercy had said: These twins must also die, but their father and mother did not want to kill them.
When the ruler of the village learned what they harbored in their hearts of not killing the children, he said in anger: What? You do not want to kill them? Then go far away from the village and never return to it, otherwise I will kill you along with your children, to be a lesson for whoever disobeys my commands. The parents were very sad but had no decision.
As a result of that unjust decision against them, the poor family went far away from the village for many years. The family lived moving from place to place until their situation settled to live in the forest, where life was not easy or facilitated.
As the years passed, the small children grew up, became youths, and became strong. Each of them began helping their father and mother in their work and livelihood. One day they found a man in the forest who was about to die. They tried to help him, but he said to them: Do not help me, for I will die soon. They gathered around him and said to him: Tell us what happened to you, how did you come here? He said to them: I came from Sercy. There is a war raging there now. We fought bravely, but the enemy was stronger than our action. Go and help my people if you can. This is what I want from you.
With these words, he died. Each of Iba and Saiba wanted to go to Sercy and help in the fighting, but their father and mother were against them and said: The leader does not want you there, and he wanted to kill you when you were small children. The father began recounting what happened in their childhood and what the ruler decided about them. In the end, their father said to them: For this reason, we went far away from Sercy and came to live in the forest.
But the twins wanted to go and help Sercy. They said: This is our country, and we must help the people of our country. So the boys came to Sercy and fought against the enemies. They fought with bravery that the people of this country witnessed.
In the end, the people won the battle and made the enemy retreat. Thus the war ended. Then a banquet began at the leader’s house. Saiba and Iba were also at the banquet. After eating, one of the men stood and said: We have today here two young men, brothers, and I believe they are very brave soldiers, but we do not know who they are.
The twins’ uncle was also at the banquet, so he said to the leader: Do you not remember them?! Do you remember the two small twins, one of whom had a spot on his right, and the other had a spot on his left hand, eighteen years ago, and you said to their father and mother to disappear from our village, and they did not want to kill their two sons? Here are the same twins.
The leader stood and asked the twins to forgive him. Then he sent the two young men to their father and mother with many gifts, and a letter in which he asked them to return. From that day, they stopped killing twins in Sercy.
