The heat and drought intensified in the beautiful forest, and all the animals became thin and weak, as the trees dried up, the river water dried up, the tree leaves fell, and they did not produce their fruits, so the animals were about to die from severe hunger and thirst.

The tiger decided to abandon that forest and go to search for another forest where its fruits would blossom and be filled with food and drink so that he could survive. Indeed, the tiger migrated from the forest to a neighboring forest, and there the tiger met the fox. The tiger told the fox that he had moved from the forest where he had lived for many years because it had dried up and no longer had food or drink. The fox welcomed him to his forest, but told him that he must commit to a covenant they would make together so that he could live with him in happiness and peace in the forest.

The covenant included a condition: the fox would go out in the morning to hunt for prey, then return and share that prey with the tiger. Then in the evening, the tiger would go out to hunt for prey, then return with it to share it with the fox. Thus they would obtain their food without effort.

The tiger agreed and promised the fox to carry out that covenant. On the morning of the next day, the wolf went out roaming in the forest to search for prey until he found a gazelle. He attacked her and succeeded in hunting her, and returned with her happily to the tiger. The tiger and fox ate her together.

The tiger felt very full and slept until evening. In the evening, the tiger went out to search for prey. The tiger decided inside himself that he would look for two preys. The first he would eat alone, and the second he would return with to the fox to share with him.

The fox was watching the tiger and knew of his betrayal, but decided to watch the tiger also the next day and not reproach him for that day. On the next day, the tiger decided to do his deed. He went out and succeeded in hunting a gazelle and a large chicken.

The tiger held onto them and kept looking for a place to sit and eat one of them alone, but he fell into the hunter’s trap. He kept calling for help, but the tiger fell with his two preys into a trap set by the skilled hunter. The hunter won three prizes: the tiger, the gazelle, and the chicken. That was the reward for selfishness and lying, so he paid the price dearly and fell into the hunter’s nets.
