Once there was a large forest dense with trees and dark, the dense trees blocked the sun from reaching the earth in the midday period and this made it always dark. There were many animals in the forest and people were afraid to enter it. At the end of that forest there is a large lake and on the other side there is a small village, and the inhabitants of that village were afraid of the animals present in that forest.

An old woman of great intelligence lives in the village, she has a married daughter living in the village located on the other side of the forest beside the lake, and when the woman longs for her daughter she goes to see her. One day the woman thought of her daughter and thought of going to visit her, so she took a small trunk containing her clothes and some sweets for her grandchildren. She told her neighbors that she was going to visit her daughter and asked them to take care of the house until she returned again. She walked until she reached the dark forest, and suddenly the old woman saw a tiger in front of her that emitted a loud roar, and the old woman began to tremble, then the tiger asked her where are you going, I am very hungry and will eat you as a meal for me.

The old woman was in extreme terror but she did not show her fear to the tiger and said with complete cunning if you want to eat me now how can I stop you, for I will die inevitably, and because I am an old woman and you will not enjoy eating me. The tiger roared and said are you trying to deceive me, so she said no no why would I deceive you, but I wanted to say to you if you want to eat me now you will find nothing but bones, you will not find any meat, for I was on my way to my daughter’s house where there is delicious food and comfort, so if you wait for my return you will enjoy while eating me. The tiger thought for a moment then said this is a good idea, you can go to your daughter’s house now, but remember to return as you promised me. The old woman promised the tiger to return again, then she set off on her way.

After she moved away a little, she met a wolf, and when the wolf saw her, his saliva began to flow, and he stopped the old woman, but in this incident the woman was not afflicted with any fear. Then the wolf said to her good that you came here oh old woman, I will eat you as a lunch meal, then the woman presented the same reasons to the wolf, and the wolf also agreed. The woman began to walk again towards her daughter’s house, and as soon as she exited the forest she became beside the lake until she reached her daughter’s house safely.

Her daughter was very happy to see her, and the old woman spent days in comfort at her daughter’s house. She ate a lot of delicious food and sweets. One day she came and told her daughter that she had to depart, and told her that she hoped to see her again if she stayed alive. The girl realized that there was something her mother was hiding, and asked her what it was, so the old woman told what had happened to her in the forest. Her daughter asked her not to fear and promised her that she would find a solution to this problem.

Then she took one of the pumpkins, emptied it, and asked her mother to enter inside it, and knocked it to take its way back, and the pumpkin began to run inside the forest, until it met the wolf who was waiting for it impatiently, then the wolf stopped it and asked it if it had seen an old woman, so the pumpkin answered no no I have not seen any old woman, and the pumpkin began to run, and the wolf ran behind it. After running for a long time, they reached the tiger, so the wolf immediately attacked the pumpkin, and it had to get out, and she said to them look I am as I promised you earlier, and now you must determine who will eat me now.

The tiger shouted of course I will eat the head, so the wolf said no I will eat the head, so the tiger said I saw her first, so both began arguing in a loud voice, and the matter ended in quarreling, and the clever woman entered the pumpkin and began to run away until she reached the town and reached her house safely.

The moral of the story: having a little thinking makes us avoid many troubles, think first before speaking or acting…
