In one of the African villages located on the banks of a river that flows into the black forests of Africa, that was the day that the inhabitants of that village had been waiting for with great anticipation. Today the heir of the tribe leader would be born. They held celebrations and began beating drums until the arrival of that newborn was announced.

But it was not a single newborn, for the wife of the leader gave birth to two sons, but only one of them could be the heir and become the leader of the tribe. The twin brothers were named Crandar and Kenya, and they received good care and equal treatment.

Despite that, they were different, and years passed. Crandar became strong in build and strong in determination, while his brother Kenya was weak in build and quickly fell ill. The matter was puzzling to the village inhabitants.

Everyone was wondering which of them would be the heir. The law of the jungle says respect the strong and forget the weak. For this reason, Crandar received special care from his father, while Kenya was neglected and his share of food decreased. The village inhabitants began to mock his weakness and thin body.

But why should the poor Kenya be blamed? It was not his desire to have a twin stronger than him, which caused him to be mistreated and refused to be the heir of the village leader. Kenya used to sit alone crying on the banks of the river. One day, one evening, Kenya sneaked out of the village heading toward the forest, leaving the village and its leadership to his brother Crandar. Kenya sailed in a boat on the river, and it was a journey into the unknown.

Where no one had ventured before. But Kenya gathered his courage and strength and continued his journey to the unknown world. Finally, Kenya reached a place where the width of the river narrowed. Suddenly, a giant tree appeared before him. When Kenya tried to pull the tree leaves to continue his journey, something unexpected happened.

For a tree leaf shouted, asking him to pull it gently. Kenya asked her: “Who are you?” She replied: “I am the tree leaf that you are trying to pull. Please pull me gently or I will tear.” The tender-hearted Kenya pulled the leaf gently and affectionately. As soon as he pulled the tree leaf, it turned into an African man and said to Kenya: “I was waiting for your coming, my master.” Kenya replied in amazement: “What? Waiting for me?” The man said: “Yes, we inhabitants of the forest have all been turned by the fortune teller into tree leaves. Please save us from this situation.”

Thus Kenya carried out what was asked of him and saved all the leaves. Finally, only one tree leaf remained, and the leaf was noticeably wide. As soon as Kenya began to pull it, it turned into a girl whom he knew was the princess of the people.

The princess thanked Kenya for saving her and told him that he could marry her and become the ruler of their city. Kenya was amazed and told her that he was weak in body and thin in build, so he could not be a ruler.

The princess touched Kenya, and he turned into a man strong in build. Thus Kenya married the beautiful princess and became a ruler, recognized by the inhabitants of the forest. The princess promised that she would love Kenya and would always be loyal to him. She advised him not to tell anyone about the secret of the tree leaves, and he promised her that. Kenya lived happily with the princess, and Kenya had to be careful, otherwise he would lose the love and life of the princess.

Many years passed after that, and despite the love of the princess and the forest inhabitants for Kenya, he felt that something was missing from him. The thing that was missing was the love of parents and the tenderness of a brother that he had not known before. He wondered inside himself about how they would treat him if they knew that he had become strong in build.

One night, Kenya left the palace heading to his village, carrying the treasury of the castle. Kenya returned quickly, but only two graves were waiting for him, those of his mother and father. He cried over their departure and went to his brother Crandar. His reception of his brother was based on his desire to know the secret of his brother’s success. He kept telling him that he was happy with his return and seeing him.

Crandar persisted with Kenya to tell him his story and the secret of that money and the strong body he had obtained. But Kenya hesitated to reveal that secret, especially since he had promised his wife, the princess, that he would never reveal that secret.

But Crandar kept insisting on his brother, using kind words that softened Kenya’s heart, and he told him his story since he had sneaked out at night from the village and left it. While Kenya was telling his story, he gradually lost his strong build.

Kenya returned to his weak thin body. Kenya felt regret for revealing the secret and ran outside to return quickly to the palace. As soon as he arrived there, he found a barren desert completely empty of people. He cried and knew that he had lost everything. The beautiful princess disappeared, and with her everything disappeared.
