The monkey Namis lived in the forest, and all the animals knew him, for his name meant mockery of others. The monkey Namis loved to mock his friends in the forest. The monkey Namis would wake up every day and sit at the top of the tree, thinking of a way to mock and laugh at others, and spend his day in mockery and sarcasm of the rest of the forest animals.
One day the monkey Namis sat thinking of a trick to mock others and laugh at them. He decided to throw a banana peel on the ground and hide among the tree branches to wait for whoever passed by it and slip, so he would mock them and laugh at their fall. The monkey Namis kept watching the road and looking with passion at whose turn it would be to slip on the banana peel.
His neighbor the monkey Maimun was passing under the tree. While the monkey Maimun was walking, he slipped on the banana peel and fell on his head, feeling severe pain. The monkey Maimun kept screaming for help until he could stand on his feet, for the banana peel had caused his feet to break. The monkey Namis kept laughing and laughing at the monkey Maimun.
The monkey Namis heard his mother’s voice calling him to come down from the top of the tree because she had prepared a surprise for him. The monkey Namis hurried to come down from the top of the tree. He learned from his mother that she would prepare for him the banana cake and peanut butter that he loved. The monkey Namis rejoiced at that surprise, for he loved eating banana cake.
The mother of monkey Namis asked him to go to the store to buy eggs and flour to make that cake. Indeed, Namis took the money and went to the store to buy the cake ingredients. The monkey Namis brought the eggs and flour.
The monkey Namis held the eggs in one hand and flour in the other hand and walked quickly toward the house. But suddenly his feet collided with a banana peel on the ground, so the monkey Namis slipped and the bag of eggs fell on the ground and all of it broke.
The passersby laughed at the sight of monkey Namis smeared with eggs, flour, and tree leaves, and everyone mocked him as he used to mock his neighbors. The monkey Namis felt that what happened to him was the reward for his mockery of others. From that day, the monkey Namis completely refrained from mocking others. On the contrary, he began to help his neighbors and friends until he won everyone’s admiration and love.
