There was a girl named Marlene and despite being from a clear origin, she was extremely beautiful to the extent that she was famous for her beauty in all parts of the region, therefore all the young men of the kingdom loved her, but she refused all the suitors, and she remained waiting for the arrival of the young king to be her future husband.
And the matter did not take long until the young king arrived, and when he saw the young girl with the beautiful face, he decided to marry her. He went to her house and talked with her people and proposed to her with gifts and dowry. And indeed he married her, and the people were watching them until they all saw the bride. The young bride had completed with the young king to his kingdom that he rules, and when their lives began full of luxury and banquets more and more, and the queen mother observed that her husband the young king was not kind as she expected, for he used to treat her like a slave and despised her as if she was one of his possessions, for he loved only himself and considered his wife as something of his possessions.
The young wife had realized that everything about her husband was only an apparent display, and she did not object to him in his treatment of her, but he answered her with all pride and told her that he had chosen her only for her beauty, and that he was with her intention to choose another wife but she was not to live in this kingdom and become a queen.
The mother of the king remained angry for days about the injustice to her daughter and reached the truth in the cruel words of her husband. She remembered all the good young men and suitors that she had refused just to become a queen, and the mother decided far away to avoid her mistake and flee from the kingdom, but the king was not lenient with her about that.
Especially that everyone was talking about the young king’s treatment of his wife in an extraordinary way, and this added to his hearing as a very stubborn man, and despite the many attempts that the mother of the king made to him to make him happy, she was not able to succeed and remained in her patience of not feeling his love, and the guards were watching her with suspicion, and he was one of the guards who was serving the king’s son and was in charge of watching him.
One day one of the guards felt suspicion about the mother of the king, and in his privacy and privacy, he tried to talk with her and inform her, and with the passing of time he became close friends with her, and because he had obtained the trust of the king’s mother, until he asked from the guard in one of the times that he allows her to go out, but the guard who was in charge of the king’s son and the guards did not agree to the request of the mother of the king.
And despite that he answered her clearly: if you want to escape from here then I know how to do that, but this matter will be required a very big sacrifice from your side. So the mother of the king agreed and confirmed to him that she was ready to do anything, and therefore the guard continued his conversation saying: the young king wants you only for your beauty, but if you change your face, he will throw you out of the kingdom immediately so that no one can see you, and he will destroy any effect of your face, he is only a type of very stupid man.
The order came to the mother of the king as a result and she said: who will rescue me, and where will I go, and what will happen to me if my beauty is all I have? Who will want him to have any relationship with a woman empty and worthless like me? I fear that, but she answered him with confidence and had delivered all his daily incidents with the mother of the king to the guard in his love of her: regarding me, you are more beautiful from the inside than the outside.
And in that moment the mother of the king realized that she indeed was in love with that simple guard and sincere, and in tears in her eyes she took from the hand of the guard the saber and fled with it, and when the king saw the face of his wife, everything happened as the guard expected, and the king sent her further away than he could and issued a sad story about his mother that made her the most hated among the people.
And thus Marlene changed herself but she became free and was able to marry the girl with the beautiful face to be good to the side of this simple guard and sincere, and he was the only person who did not look at her face and her outer beauty, for in this veiled face he was pure and found the love that paved the way to his love and for him.
