The events of the story revolve around the loyalty of the dog that the beautiful child Maysoun received as a gift from her mother on her birthday since her childhood. They grew up together, and he became a small dog, and he used to fear for her and protect her. It happened that one day of the holidays of the week, the child Maysoun went out for recreation, but Maysoun fell in the valley alone from the severity of her fatigue, so the faithful dog was the reason for saving her and returning her to her house safe once again.
The story: On the birthday of the beautiful child Maysoun, her mother gave her a wonderful gift, and the gift was a small puppy very beautiful. After the passing of years, Maysoun grew up, and the puppy grew up with her and became a small dog. The small dog used to love Maysoun severely, and she also loved him, and he used to always protect her from every harm and distress, and he used to wait for her return from the garden with longing every day.
After the passing of several other years, the dog used to accompany Maysoun on her way to school. One day, the child Maysoun went out of the house, and she wanted to recreate in the valley close to her house, but the weather was extremely hot, to the extent that the dog was panting heavily from the hot air. Maysoun became thirsty extremely, to the extent that she could not complete the walking, and Maysoun fell on the ground from the severity of fatigue, heat, and thirst. She fainted upon her.
Her faithful dog began to bark severely imploring for someone from the passersby to hear him and come to save his owner Maysoun, but unfortunately no one heard them, and no one passed from that region. The child Maysoun remained lying on the ground and her faithful dog beside her, not leaving her ever.
Until evening came, and the dog remained beside Maysoun guarding her, and he began to bark again until a good Bedouin man heard him and found them while he was on his way back to his tent. So he carried Maysoun and took her to his tent and gave her water, and placed on her forehead a wet bandage, attempting to relieve her from the severe fatigue state that befell her due to the hot air and extreme thirst. As for her faithful dog, he hurried to the house after being assured that Maysoun was in a safe place to inform him of her return.
Maysoun’s father was very worried, so the dog grabbed the hem of Maysoun’s father’s clothes and kept pulling from him as if he wanted to say to him follow him. Indeed Maysoun’s father understood the dog’s intent and walked behind him without objection. The father kept following the dog until they reached the tent.
The father rejoiced greatly at finding his daughter, and when Maysoun saw her father, she hugged him severely, and the two thanked the good Bedouin man who received Maysoun in his tent and invited them to his visit in the house. The dog was happy to see Maysoun happy and joyful.
But he appeared affected and sad for a matter, because he thought that they forgot his loyalty and would not thank him. Maysoun knew the favor of her faithful dog in his return to her house and her family safe, so when they reached the house, Maysoun embraced her faithful dog severely, expressing to him her thanks and love for him.
When her mother saw her, she embraced her severely and told her all that happened to her, and thanked her for giving her that faithful dog who protected her and did not leave her for a moment since she went out of the house. The mother also turned to the faithful dog, patted his head and embraced him severely, expressing to him her love for him she herself.
