In the evening, the moon was bright and beautiful. So Noor said to her mother: “Look, oh mother, how beautiful the moon is! It is like the night’s lamp.” The mother laughed and said to her: “True, oh Noor, but how far, for in reality it has neither water nor air, and it is full of holes.”
Noor went out to the garden of the house, and she was thinking about her mother’s words. She sat to play with her ball, and between the ball and the time she was looking at the moon and saying to herself: “How beautiful you are, oh moon. I wish I could reach you.”
Suddenly, she saw her ball dancing around her, and she heard its rustling, and it said to her: “Oh Noor, oh beautiful Noor, my mother’s old lamp raises you to the fake moon.” So Noor rejoiced and held the lamp with her hand, and flew high, high above, but she did not reach the moon. The parrot flapped its wings and said to her: “Oh Noor, oh beautiful Noor, shine above the back of the moon, and I will carry you to the fake moon.”
Noor climbed on the back of the parrot and flew with it upward, until she reached to the clouds, but the moon was still far away, far away. She came down and sat sad, and the moon around her became dark, and she started to cry, saying: “I wished to reach to the beautiful moon.”
She heard her mother’s voice, saying to her: “Why are you crying, oh my love?” So Noor knew that she had been dreaming, and she started to tell her mother what she had seen. The mother laughed and embraced her to her chest and said to her: “Come, oh my love, to sleep in your bed, and perhaps this time you will reach to the moon.”
Noor went to her room after she received from her mother that she should tell her all she knew about the moon, its color, and some information that had reached to it from space to discover it, not to be disappointed, and to know whether life on it is possible or not.
Noor was very happy with all this new information that she had not known before. And here she told her mother that she wished to become a pilot so that she could reach to the moon when she grew up and became a pilot. On the next day, when Noor went to the school, she told her friends about the fake moon, and she promised them that she would take them on a trip to see the moon when she grew up and became a pilot.
