The events of this story take place in a distant time. At that time, Juha was sitting in his house feeling extremely bored from sitting alone in the house without his wife, who had traveled in the morning to her parents’ house. At that time, one of the thieves believed that there was no one in the house and sneaked into his rooms until Juha sensed him and decided to hide in a large box.
Beginning of the story:
One day, the conflict intensified between Juha and his wife, and his wife decided to leave the house for him and go to her parents’ house. She packed her clothes bag and his wife left in the morning, leaving him alone in the house. Juha sat in his house and felt extremely bored, as he found nothing to do all day.
Juha decided to go to bed early. He turned off all the lights of the house and went to his bed, but he could not sleep easily, so he sat on his bed thinking. At that time, there was a thief trying to enter to steal the house. He had seen Juha’s wife carrying her clothes bag in the morning, so he believed that Juha had followed her and there was no one in the house.
The thief sneaked into Juha’s house quietly. When he was reassured that there were no people, as he initially believed, he made some sounds while searching for treasures, which he thought he would find in Juha’s house. Juha felt sounds outside and was certain that there was a thief. He decided to hide in a large box. Indeed, he was able to hide in it, for Juha was known for his small size and slender body.
After the thief searched every corner of the house for anything valuable he could steal and found nothing, he decided to enter Juha’s room. There he found the large box and said to himself: Juha must have hidden something valuable in it. When he opened the box, he was surprised to find Juha inside it.
Juha came out of the box, and the thief asked him: What made you hide inside this box? Juha said to him: I pitied you when I felt your presence in the house and thought that you would not find anything valuable to steal, so I decided to hide here out of shame for you. The thief was amazed at what Juha did and fled away, uttering words about his bad luck.
