It is told that one day there was living a small girl named Hadiya with her parents and her four brothers. She was the youngest of the children and her age was twenty years. Her brothers loved each other a lot, and therefore they were treating her as a small child. Even though Hadiya’s brothers were not evil, they were treating her with kindness, and they did not think that she should sit with them or to participate with them in their doings.

Hadiya was always trying to sit with them or to ask from them to carry her with them to visit their friends, but they always used to refuse her and to tell her that she was still small and should not go out with them.

Hadiya went to complain to her mother about their brothers’ bad treatment and that they did not love her. Her mother told her that her brothers on the contrary loved her very much, but they were preoccupied with other matters, for they had become grown up and they had other activities that differed from her, and that she should occupy herself with matters that suit her age, or to take friends of her same age to become her companion like her brothers did.

Hadiya felt great anger from her mother’s words, and she decided to enter her room and not to speak to any one of them again. So when her brothers returned, they gathered their mother and them and asked from them to apologize to their younger sister Hadiya, because this was their duty toward treating her with kindness, because they had harmed her with great unintentionally.

Her brothers felt that they had made a mistake about their little sister and that they might have caused her wound without intention. So they headed to her room to apologize to her, but she had locked her door with stones and did not open it for them. So the days passed and Hadiya remained in her room, not going out from it except a little, until her brothers were asking from her from time to time to sit with them, but she was refusing and going to her room repeatedly and locking the door. She tried her brothers to enter her room to know the secret of her staying inside it, but she refused to open the door to them.

After the passing of several months on that state, Hadiya came out from her room one day and told her mother that she wanted to participate with them in a competition of reciting the Noble Quran. Her mother rejoiced and called Hadiya whether she had memorized the Noble Quran completely. Her mother asked her about what she was talking to her with her mother the previous time, Hadiya answered her: “Yes, oh my mother, I have memorized it completely.” Her mother said to her, “Since you have memorized it, oh my daughter, memorize it, oh my daughter,” her mother said to her after she had spoken with her her mother the previous time, Hadiya felt great anger and went to her room and wept a lot. Then she suddenly saw in front of her the Noble Quran, so she rejoiced to read in it until she felt at rest. She remembered her mother’s words when she was telling her that the Noble Quran is healing for the hearts. She decided that she would stay in her room until she finished its memorization, and all praise is to God for what He had done.

Her mother rejoiced from her young daughter’s behavior, and she wondered that her young daughter would think in this way, so she blessed her daughter and said to her: “May God bless you, oh my daughter, and illuminate your heart with faith.”
