Farfour was a gray mouse living in a small hole in the middle of the forest in happiness and security. One day, Farfour went out of his small hole to search for food as his habit. He began to jump among the trees and reeds, and suddenly Farfour saw a large group of animals walking together. Farfour the mouse said where are these animals going, I must follow them without anyone feeling to know where they are going.
Farfour kept following the animals until he reached the den of the lion, king of the forest, and the animals gathered around the king of the forest. Farfour climbed a high tree quickly to see what would happen. Farfour saw the animals standing before the lion in submission, and each one of them began to present his problem to the king of the forest, and he was judging between them and they listened to him with severe respect. Farfour kept watching and listening.
Until everyone returned satisfied with the judgment of the lion, king of the forest. Farfour returned to his hole and kept thinking and thinking, then said to himself why do I not be king of the forest, Farfour king of the forest. Farfour kept thinking of a trick he would do to make him king, and suddenly Farfour jumped in the air while screaming from joy and seeing his success.
Farfour set off quickly outside the hole and headed to the trunk of a hollow tree in the middle of the forest. Farfour entered inside the hollow trunk and said I am the spirit of the forest, I am the father of all animals. Farfour’s voice was coming out magnified and harsh from the hollow trunk. In the morning of the next day, Farfour set out quickly outside the hole heading towards the tree trunk. The animals had spread the news of the trunk that the forest spirit spoke from, and he ordered them to gather around him. After a little, everyone screamed when they heard a loud voice.
It emerged from the side of the trunk saying to them I am the spirit of the forest, your lord, you must make the mouse Farfour a king over you, otherwise I will torture you all. The animals looked at each other, whispering how can Farfour be a king over us, so Farfour said from inside the trunk is there anyone objecting, so everyone screamed and went quickly to the hole of Farfour the mouse. The animals reached the hole of Farfour the mouse and called all together Farfour answer us oh king of the forest. Farfour went out of his hole and said to them with fear what king of the forest, I am king of the forest?
The animals chanted the name of the king of the forest and the voice speaking from the trunk, and Farfour was laughing to himself, my trick has succeeded. Farfour kept objecting until he actually became king of the forest. After severe pressure from the animals, the animals took Farfour from the tree trunk and made a council for him to be close to the forest spirit. Days passed and Farfour was happy because he became king. He began to issue his new orders. He ordered the fox foxes to bring food, and ordered the wolf wolves to clean the place. Everyone obeyed his orders fearing the forest spirit. But with the passing of time and the increase of orders, Farfour became harsh.
The animals became very annoyed and decided to hold a gathering. The animals gathered to search for a way to rid themselves of Farfour’s oppression. The animals agreed that the fox would monitor Farfour and inform them when he moves away from the trunk so that they could talk to the forest spirit to inform her that Farfour does not deserve to be king. The fox kept monitoring the mouse from night until morning. The mouse woke up from his sleep and went out of his hole heading towards the trunk while the fox was monitoring him. The mouse reached the trunk and looked at it and entered a small hole leading to the trunk, then heard wolves’ voices from inside the trunk while he was talking to them lying that he was the forest spirit.
The fox hurried to inform the animals of what the mouse did. The animals heard the voice calling and ordering everyone to attend. After a little, Farfour went out from outside the trunk and found himself surrounded by the animals looking at him with severe hatred after his trick was uncovered. Farfour implored the animals to forgive him, but they refused and expelled him from the forest as a reward for his lie and deception…
