In a small room on the surface of a white paper, the square, triangle, and circle lived in love and harmony. One morning, an event caused disagreement and quarrel among the three geometric shapes. A long-legged spider crept into the small room, climbed the wall, intending one of the corners, then began weaving fine threads skillfully, weaving a web to catch insects.
As soon as he finished, he tied one of his threads to the ceiling and hung swinging. When he reached the edge of the window, he shouted: Spider, spider, come, for I have found a place for you to weave your web. The spider approached him, saying: By God, have you found the place? I’ll divide it for you. Look at the ceiling, there are three empty corners. The spider smiled and said: Oh, what a lovely spider. I got tired trying to weave my web but didn’t succeed.
Honestly, the circle’s shape is ugly. The spider said: Don’t remind me, please. I hate it more than the broom they sweep my house with. This happened this morning. Now let’s return to the geometric shapes to see what happened. The circle felt distress after hearing the spider’s conversation. She turned to her friends, saying: Oh, the stupid spiders. How can they say the circle’s shape is ugly? Don’t they remember the sun and moon? Don’t they know that the line they draw is beautiful, unlike the harsh straight lines that draw geometric shapes?
The triangle and square walked on themselves and shouted angrily: What are you philosophizing about now? The straight lines that draw our sides have become harsh and don’t please you. You’ve started acting superior to us. The circle wiped her face and said: May God forgive you both. I don’t act superior to my friends. Moreover, I admit before you that I don’t possess any angle, because I don’t have sides in the first place.
The triangle and square felt joy and forgot their friendship with the circle. They said: Of course you don’t have sides and angles. We hope you don’t take it that your shape has no meaning. The circle became sad, her face turned red. She took a deep breath and swelled a little. Suddenly, she peeled off from the paper, forming a beautiful balloon floating in the room’s space. The triangle and square were amazed when they saw the balloon, and their minds almost exploded when they heard the spider calling the spider, saying: My dear, open your eyes to the sight of that wonderful balloon.
