There was a king named Devashakti who was very frustrated with his son, who seemed very weak, and every day he seemed weaker and weaker. Doctors came to him from distant places from all over the country, and they insisted that he could not be cured because there is a snake inside his stomach, which is what makes him in this condition. They tried all types of treatments, but in vain and without benefit.
The young Prince was also frustrated to see his father sad about him, so he decided one night to go out of the palace and go to another kingdom. He went to another kingdom and resorted to living in a temple, eating from the charity food that the temple collects from people, whatever its type.
This new country was ruled by a king who had two young daughters, whom he raised and taught the best education. Every morning, they would bow at their father’s feet to seek his blessings. One of the daughters said to him: Oh father, all the joys of the world have been granted to us with your blessings. As for the other daughter, she said: Oh great king, everyone reaps the fruits of their deeds.
The speech of the second daughter made the king very angry with her. One day, he summoned his ministers and said: Let her enjoy the fruits she reaps as a result of her actions. Take her and marry her to anyone outside the palace. The ministers did that, but they could not find anyone. When they saw the young Prince who lived in the temple, they married her to him.
The Princess was a religious girl, and she was very happy with the marriage. They decided to travel to another part of the country because it would be inappropriate for them to make the temple their residence. On the way, the Prince became tired and wanted to rest under the shade of a tree. He was getting weaker every day and could not walk long distances, so the Princess decided to buy some food from the nearby market.
When she returned, she saw her husband sleeping, and there was a snake near him. She was about to warn him when she saw another snake coming out of her husband’s mouth, so she hid to watch the matter. The snake said to the other snake: Why do you torture this handsome Prince? You are threatening his life, and you are also threatening your own life. If the Prince drinks cumin seed and mustard soup, you will certainly die.
The snake present in the Prince’s mouth said: And why do you protect two gold vessels that you have no need for? You are also in danger to your life. If someone pours hot water and oil on you there in your place, you will certainly die.
After a heated discussion between them, each of them went inside his place, but the Princess had already learned their secrets and acted accordingly. She provided her husband with cumin seed and mustard soup. Within hours, the young Prince began to recover and regain much of his strength. After that, they poured hot water and oil on the hole of the other snake, and found the two gold vessels that the snake was guarding. Now the young Prince began to recover, they had two gold vessels, and they lived happier than ever before.
And wisdom says: When your enemies quarrel, you are the winner!
