The beautiful bird lived inside the tree trunk. This bird would lay its eggs safely inside a cavity found in the tree trunk. One morning, the wolf was passing through the forest. Three days had passed without him eating, so he came out looking for food to satisfy his hunger.
While the wolf was looking up, he found the bird’s nest full of bright white eggs. The eggs won the wolf’s admiration, and he decided that the bird’s eggs would be his next meal. The wolf asked the bird to throw him the eggs and threatened him that if he didn’t do so, he would climb the tree and eat him and his eggs.
The poor bird wondered at the injustice of that wolf and his unreasonable request. But the wolf kept threatening the bird to eat him if he didn’t do what he wanted. The bird remained silent, thinking about the matter, feeling fear and anxiety for his eggs.
Suddenly, Allah inspired the bird with a smart trick. The bird asked the wolf to return to his home to rest from the heat of the sun, then return in the evening, and the bird would have prepared him a delicious meal from fresh eggs. The wolf was happy with that idea and returned to his home.
Immediately, the bird flew from the tree and started looking for white, round stones that resembled eggs. He gathered a number of them and returned with them to his nest. In the evening, the wolf returned to eat the delicious fresh eggs the bird had promised him. The bird asked him to open his mouth to throw the eggs inside it.
The wolf opened his mouth, and the bird started throwing the white stones inside the wolf’s mouth. The wolf swallowed the stones, thinking they were eggs. Suddenly, the wolf twisted from the severe pain that struck his stomach. The bird laughed, his smart trick having succeeded. Thus the unjust wolf received the reward of his injustice and his slander against one weaker than him.
