There was once a simple farmer living in one of the villages, but he was distinguished by ambition and activity. He also produced in his land the best crops at the village level from vegetables such as cucumbers and tomatoes. All the villagers used to brag about Uncle Muhammad’s crops.

One day, a journalist visited the village to do some reports about the village. He passed by Uncle Muhammad’s field and the shape of the fresh red tomatoes caught his attention. He asked Uncle Muhammad to taste them. Uncle Muhammad picked some tomato fruits, then washed them with clean water and gave them to the journalist, who was very impressed with the taste of the delicious fruits.

The journalist asked Uncle Muhammad if he had heard of the crops competition that the ministry holds every year to choose the best crops to reward their owner. Uncle Muhammad answered him that he had not heard of that competition before. When the journalist returned to the city, he immediately visited the person responsible for the competitions and nominated Uncle Muhammad’s name to win the prize.

On the date of the competition, the ministry sent for Uncle Muhammad, who attended and brought with him many of his fresh agricultural products from vegetables. Many farmers also participated in the competition. The day of the competition was a beautiful day, as the square chosen to hold the competition was decorated. It was covered with many different colors, red, green, and yellow, which are the colors of the different agricultural crops from vegetables and fruits, as well as flowers and ornamental plants.

The plants also filled the place with beautiful fragrant smells. Many people attended, including the journalist. Uncle Muhammad felt joy to participate in that competition even if he did not win. Uncle Muhammad’s happiness was great at the end of the ceremony when he was announced as the first winner in the vegetable competition. Uncle Muhammad felt great pride because his products won first place.

In the following year, Uncle Muhammad went to the competition and also won first place. So the journalist decided to do an investigative report about him to discover the secret of his constant superiority. The surprise was when Uncle Muhammad told him the secret of his success.

Uncle Muhammad told him that he is always keen to buy the best types of seeds for his land and also the land of his neighbors, so that when the spring season comes and the breeze blows, and the insects carry pollen to his land, they transfer to the good grains from his neighbors’ land.

The journalist was amazed and asked Uncle Muhammad: “Were you not afraid that your neighbors’ crops would become better than yours?” Uncle Muhammad replied with a bright smile: “Our Noble Messenger urges us to do good, saying, may God bless him and grant him peace, ‘None of you truly believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself.’”

Also, God does not waste the reward of one who does good work. Here I am winning the competition, and even if my neighbors win, I will be happy. The journalist was impressed with Uncle Muhammad’s words and said to him: “You truly deserve first place not only at the level of crops, but you deserve first place in the generosity of morals.”
