One day, while the rooster was walking alone on the road, he met his friend the owl at sunset. He said to her: Hello, hello, how are you, dear owl? The owl said: Fine, my beautiful friend. The rooster said: Do you see this luminous disc in the sky that sends heat to the earth? The owl answered with annoyance: No, I don’t feel warmth when I see it; rather, it makes me feel cold.
The rooster said, angry: How is that? I’m sure of my words. But the owl insisted on her words, saying: I never feel warmth when this disc appears. Then the two friends approached each other while in a state of great anger. The rooster said to the owl: Then you know nothing! The owl said: No, rather, you are arrogant and fanatical about your opinion.
Here, the intensity of the quarrel between them increased, the discussion became heated, then each friend insulted the other, and they engaged in a battle. At this moment, the old monkey appeared, and the rooster and owl looked at the laughing monkey in wonder. The monkey said to them: I listened to your dialogue and was amazed at this dispute, even though each of you is right!
Each of the rooster and owl said: How can that be? The monkey answered: There are two discs in the sky. One appears during the day and gives heat, and the other appears at night and the weather becomes cold. The rooster wakes up during the day when the hot disc appears! And the owl wakes up at night in the cold weather. Here each looked at the other in great shame! They realized they had been hasty, and each apologized to the other.
The moral value learned from the story: That difference of opinion does not ruin the relationship, and each of us may be right, so there is no need for anger and fanaticism about opinion, because anger may lead its possessor to problems and falling into error. Therefore, we must accept the opinions of others and listen to them so we benefit from what they have, and they also benefit from what we know. But if each of us is fanatical about his opinion and insists on it, we may lose our friendship or wrong our friends.
