It is told that there lived a queen of beautiful face known as the Queen of Flowers. It was natural that she name her little daughter Princess of Flowers. When the princess’s first birthday approached, it was necessary to celebrate this happy occasion with a special celebration. The forest dwarfs wanted to buy some lovely gifts for the princess, but the Queen of Flowers refused and said no one would buy any gift for the princess. She said she would be pleased to receive a gift made by their hands.

The queen’s proclamation had an effect, as activity and movement spread throughout all parts of the forest. Everyone went to decide what to make as a gift for the little princess. Each individual wanted to present the best gift, and this was exactly what the queen wanted, because they had recently complained of stagnation, so the queen thought the gift would occupy them, and she was right. Then a long time passed while they tried to decide what they would make as a gift for the little princess.

Finally, one of them said they would make her a large cake of sugar and lemon, and it would be the most beautiful and stylish cake. Others said they would make something different because the princess wouldn’t be able to eat the cake. They would make her a large dollhouse, and she would love this gift. They began cutting wood and sawing it joyfully.

Another group gathered and said they would make the princess a beautiful dress for the celebration, and she would appear more beautiful. They began cutting fabric and embroidering it. Another group said the princess must wear a crown, so they would make her a crown of gold and silver and set it with diamonds and jewels. Another group hid what they would make for the princess.

There was a small dwarf called No Name, because he didn’t have a name at all, so they called him No Name. He was a gardener and was very sad because all he could do was grow flowers, and he was never able to make anything else. True, he cared for the flowers, but everyone knew he couldn’t make real flowers. One day he was sitting, signs of sadness covering his face, when a small fairy stood on his shoulder and asked him why he looked sad and anxious. The small dwarf answered: I can’t do anything. I’m a gardener and can only help flowers grow, and I really want to make something.

Then she asked him what he would like to make for the princess, and the dwarf said I want to make her happy. The fairy said to him, what a beautiful answer, you will be able to make her happy. Then she waved her wand on the ground, and a small violin and bow appeared. She said you will play music with your hands. This is a magic violin. When you play on it, flowers will grow. Try it and you will see. The dwarf laughed and said thank you fairy, now I can go to the palace and present my gift.

Then everyone took their gifts to the princess, and they agreed that she was crying when they arrived, as she was only a child. One of them said wait until she sees our gift, and I am confident she will then stop crying. They revealed the huge cake, and the queen thanked them, but the little princess kept crying. Some said we will see her opinion of our gift and brought out the large dollhouse. The queen rejoiced, but the little princess couldn’t see the gift because of her many tears.

The other group said this gift will stop her crying, and they showed the beautiful celebration dress, but she continued crying. After that, the others revealed the beautiful crown they had made, and the princess continued crying. Then No Name stepped forward, and one asked him what he had brought. He said I have containers filled with soil. They said you won’t be able to present that to the princess. He played the music, and the soil began to move, then flowers appeared. The princess laughed, and they gave No Name the name Flower Boy.
