The events of the story take place in ancient times when one of the farmers visited Juha and presented him with a gift. Juha accepted the hare from him and thanked him, then gave him advice. This is what followed from that visit:

Beginning of the story:

It is told that one day, a farmer carried a rabbit on his back and went to Juha, knocked on his door. Juha opened the door and asked the man: “Who are you?” The man replied: “I am one of the strangers who know your wisdom, oh Juha, and I came to you because I want you to accept this rabbit as a gift for you.” Juha was very happy and accepted the rabbit gift, then called the kind man to enter his house so they could eat lunch together. The man entered, and after lunch, Juha called the kind man and asked him to repeat that visit often and repeatedly, then let him go again, hoping that he would repeat his visit to him.

After a week:

After a week from the visit, the man visited Juha again in his home, but Juha had forgotten him. So Juha said to him again: “Who are you?” The man replied: “I am the owner of the rabbit, oh Juha.” Juha remembered him and thanked the rabbit again and invited him to eat lunch with him. They exchanged conversation happily, then let him go again, hoping he would repeat his visit to him.

After a week again:

After a week, the man visited Juha again - the owner of the rabbit - in his home, but he found that eight people were entering his house, so Juha got up from his place, amazed and surprised, and asked them in alarm: “Who are you?” One of them answered him alarmingly: “We are neighbors of the rabbit’s owner, oh Juha. We love him, Juha. At lunch time, Juha brought them food, and they ate everything that was in the house of edibles.”

A third week:

And a week later, Juha saw eight people entering his house, so he got up from his place, amazed and surprised, and asked them in alarm: “Who are you?” One of them answered him alarmingly: “We are neighbors of neighbors of the rabbit’s owner, oh Juha. We love him, Juha. At lunch time, Juha brought them food, and they ate everything that was in the house of edibles.”

Juha came:

Juha brought large food for lunch, put boiling water in it, then presented it to them and invited them for dinner. When they tasted it, they screamed and said to Juha: “What is this, oh Juha? It’s boiling water!” Juha laughed at them with his old habit, telling them wisely: “This is the meal of the rabbit, oh neighbors of the rabbit’s owner. Juha sat with them until they brought them lunch.
