In one of the forests, there was a very old and arrogant lion. He prided himself on all the animals around him in the forest, until one day when he was sleeping in his nest and the insects were disturbing his place. The lion woke up from his sleep suddenly on the impact of a hare falling on both of his front paws.
The lion struck his leg angrily, but when he saw it, he grabbed it and mocked it, saying: “Don’t you know that the king of animals is sleeping? How did you fall and enter his nest? How do you play and have fun with him without fear?”
The hare felt extreme fear and panic, and realized that his fate was imminent death and that the lion wouldn’t have mercy on him no matter how much he begged him. So he calmed himself and said to him:
“Oh, King Jalal the Lion, I know your strength and power, and I am a very small hare in front of your great power. I won’t even be able to flee from your mighty claws at all. And I don’t become food for you at all, but I only ask that you eat a human or a wolf twice or a fox once. Please spare me for the sake of your great majesty, that you let me go.”
In extreme fear, the lion said to him: “And why do you leave me while you wake me from my sleep? Death is the least punishment for you. It will be a lesson for you.”
The hare burst into tears crying in fear and panic, trying to beg the lion to leave him and not eat him. The lion laughed mockingly at the hare and said to him:
“You need me? How do you chase and say this?”
The hare struck him, so now the lion has become extremely angry in the forest more than before, and certainly will eat him and won’t have mercy on him at all. But he tried and said:
“Oh, King Jalal the Lion. I know your mighty strength and I am a very small hare. I won’t be able to flee from your great claws at all. Please spare me, and know, oh king, that perhaps you need me…”
In extreme fear he said to him: “Oh, King Jalal the Lion, spare me and leave me this time. And know, oh king, that perhaps you need me to carry your things…”
And he ran away in great happiness saying to the lion: “Thank you, oh King Jalal the Lion. I resorted to your majesty to avoid escaping. And I’ll find you in your service always.”
After a few days, there was a skilled hunter walking in the forest and trying to hunt a nearby wild animal. Suddenly, the lion fell under the hunter’s net, so the lion fought with all his might and escaped all the wild nearby animals, terrifying them all. When they heard the lion’s roar, they all fled and asked each other about the reason for the lion the king of the forest’s anger. As for the hare, when he heard the lion’s roar until he fled toward the sound.
The other animals who were fleeing asked him about the reason for the lion’s anger. The hare told them in happiness as he felt his head raised: “I’m going to the majesty of the king to fulfill my vow.”
And the hare went to the lion and found him stuck in a hunter’s net. The hare began to bite the net with his strong teeth, and the work was extremely hard, and he bit part of it very large, so the lion escaped from the net and from the hunting while he was saying in regret and extreme sadness:
“Now I know that your might and greatness have reached their limit, you won’t enjoy the free and wild life without the help of small weak creatures like me. So I thank you, oh small hare, for what you did. If it weren’t for your small size, you wouldn’t have succeeded in saving me, and I would have suffered the hunting by now.”
After the lion the king of the forest was saved, his brother the elephant learned about it but he also needed less from him because whether his might or power would still be less than his and also less than his.
