In the emperor’s palace, a wise woman was serving as a seamstress, for that she was extremely skilled at sewing, so she knew that her daughter was extremely skilled at sewing too for the emperor, and when the wise woman went home she informed her daughter of the emperor’s call, and her daughter said to her mother: Mother, I will receive that party and be among the candidates, so the wise woman said to her daughter: If you are from those who will come to that party and are extremely modest, and you are the emperor’s daughter, be extremely happy and modest for the reality of what might be painful.
So the girl prepared for the party and brought with her some excellent perfumes she took from her garden. And in the evening when she reached the palace, she was in the finest of those girls who came and had nothing but simple gowns and dresses. And the emperor surrounded her admiring her and her perfumes among their hands, and stood at the end of the party to announce the beginning of the suitors’ courtship, through which the emperor’s daughter would choose the future empress of his predecessor.
He said to all the girls who came: I will give to each of you a basket containing its fruit, and after a year, she who appears pregnant with my childbearing will be the next empress of China’s precedent, and among all the girls, the girl carried the basket with its unique fruit seeds and returned to her home.
Here she planted it in a pot and started watering it until it grows and becomes big, but without success, three years passed and nothing happened, so the girl abandoned it completely from different ways, but it didn’t sprout in it any single thing. The emperor learned the story’s reason for choosing that girl for that didn’t oppose the emperor’s will, and that’s how the daughter of the seamstress became the empress of China because of it.
And when she brought the appropriate reception for the emperor and looked at all the competiting suits after he saw the red flowers and the white beautiful in their hands, he stood at the end before the girl with the unique fruit basket and said to her: This is the next empress of my choosing who I chose, her whose fruit seeds I gave you, so she was amazed with the girls’ words: How does she choose her while she didn’t plant a single thing? So the emperor explained to them the reason for his choosing that girl for that didn’t oppose the emperor’s will, and thus became the daughter of the seamstress empress of China because of it.
