Children love short stories, even folktales, as they are a means of pleasure and entertainment for the child. In addition, they enrich the child’s culture and convey to them lessons and wisdom of life, and even help guide children’s behavior and refine their morals.

When fathers and mothers gather with their children to tell the events of the story, children are filled with feelings of belonging and love for the family, and it increases the bond between them, and also increases the depth of the relationship between parents and their children.

The events of the story: The fox Foxy had a beautiful friend, the stork bird Ellie. One day, the fox invited his friend Ellie to come to the house to have dinner with him, and told her that he would prepare her favorite soup. Ellie thanked the fox Foxy and promised him to come at night to have dinner with him.

Ellie goes to dinner: Evening came, and Ellie went to Foxy’s house. She knocked on the door of the house, and Foxy opened it for her. Ellie smelled the smart soup and thanked Foxy for his skill in making her favorite soup. She sat at the table waiting for the delicious soup.

Ellie’s shock: Foxy entered the kitchen and brought out a bowl of soup for Ellie and another bowl of soup for himself. Foxy sat at the table and quickly took the soup because of its delicious taste and smart smell.

But Ellie could not drink the soup from the bowl because of her long beak that prevents her from drinking the soup from the shallow bowl. Ellie returned to her home sad because she remained hungry and did not eat the soup she craved.

Ellie’s revenge on Foxy: After a few days, Ellie went to Foxy and invited him to have dinner with her. Foxy was very happy with this invitation because he was hungry. Evening came, and Foxy went to Ellie’s house. He knocked on the door, and Ellie opened it for him. He smelled the delicious soup that Ellie had prepared for him.

Foxy’s shock: The fox Foxy sat at the table waiting for the soup. Ellie brought the soup in two tall jugs. The fox Foxy tried to drink the soup, but he could not because his small mouth did not reach the soup at the bottom of the jug.

While Ellie quickly took the soup because she has a large beak that enables her to reach the bottom of the jug, Foxy was sad because he was hungry and would not be able to drink the soup. He left the house crying.

The purpose of the story: Teaching the child to treat people as he wishes to be treated. The fox Foxy could have considered the large beak of his friend Ellie and brought her a deep plate, but he only thought of himself. The child learns love and not to take revenge like Ellie did, who tried to take revenge on her friend Foxy. Teaching the child the difference between the following synonyms: shallow and deep, and providing information to the child about the stork bird, which is a white bird with long legs, a long neck, and a long beak.
