The droplet Laila opened her eyes and found herself hanging on a beautiful colorful umbrella. She saw a big world around her. Everyone in it was wearing woolen coats in many colors that dazzled this small water droplet. Some covered their heads with hats protecting them from the winter cold. Laila started looking right and left, marveling at the fast movement around her, until she lost her balance and fell to the ground. When Laila fell, she fell on the head of another water droplet named Doudi.

Doudi felt pain, but Laila apologized to her profusely. They started talking about colors and shapes, and those around them began speaking and reflecting until they became friends. Laila and her new friend Doudi ran to the sidewalk away from the feet of passersby. They met sand grains there and became friends too. They played together every day. Laila would contemplate the sky above her from time to time, forget what was around her while watching the movement of clouds and seeing the rest of the droplets being born from them, then descending quickly to the earth.

On the other side of the road, there was a long water stream where water droplets and sand played. Doudi suggested to the friends that they go play there where the stream was. They all went together to the river, singing. They played there until they were tired. Doudi and the sand grains slept on the riverbank from extreme fatigue. As for Laila, she preferred to lie beside them, watching the sky. She watched the movement of clouds again and looked at the moon, wondering about his presence among the clouds, awake at this late time.

The moon paid attention to Laila and asked her what she was thinking. Laila told him that she wished to reach the clouds and see the secret of the sky, and the descent of rain droplets. The moon told Laila that there was a star called the Sun that would appear clearly at the end of the month, announcing the end of the winter season. It was responsible for drawing water droplets up to the sky. The cloud would fall in the form of rain when it couldn’t carry large amounts of them. Laila slept, dreaming of the experience of ascending and descending that she could play with her friends, where the Sun would pull her up and then she would slide down to play again.

Laila told her friends the next day about her enthusiasm for the new game and invited them to play with her at the end of the month. Everyone was enthusiastic about that. At the end of the month, the clouds disappeared from the sky. Laila and her friends woke up and watched with joy the light of the Sun that Laila had told them about. But they didn’t find Doudi around them, so they thought she had preceded them to play at the stream. They hurried. The sand grains started to come out of the shaded area to be carried by the Sun. Laila joined them, but the Sun didn’t carry them. Not much time passed before Laila started ascending to the sky little by little.

Laila headed to the sky and hit it coldly. She felt fear because she couldn’t descend again. Laila found droplets she didn’t know. The sand grains looked for Doudi but didn’t find her, so they were extremely worried. Laila heard a familiar voice above the clouds. It was Doudi, crying alone there. They rejoiced greatly and talked about what happened to each of them. The two friends started thinking of a suitable way to descend. Doudi asked why rain falls only in the winter season.

Laila remembered the moon’s words and started calling the rest of the droplets until they all formed and were allowed to descend again. No one paid attention to their words. The two droplets sat sadly. On the morning of the next day, the two droplets woke up to the sound of a droplet calling: Gather, the time of dew has come. A number of droplets gathered until they were ready to descend. Laila approached the droplet and asked her about dew. She said it was a light mist that descends on the leaves of plants and their flowers, refreshing them every morning. They asked her to join them on the cloud, and she agreed with great joy. They prepared to fall.
