On the morning of one day when the sun rose, and nature increased in beauty and the tree leaves increased in brightness, everything in the forest appeared more radiant and clear. The canary was the first to wake up after she had been sleeping like most birds. The first thing she did was to fly upward, soaring above the forest trees, and continued to send her tunes through the trees, to wake up the birds and animals to the tones of her gentle soft voice.

The Canary’s Singing: The animals and birds in the forest woke up after hearing the singing of the canary. They flew until they stood in the appropriate place, greeted the birds and animals, and gathered around her to listen to her beautiful singing.

Her tunes moved from place to place until they reached the dark cave where the bat lives. The bat sleeps during the day and wakes up to work at night. The bat sleeps with his head downward, and although he flies, he is not a bird. The bat heard the sound of the canary’s tunes, so he woke from his sleep and was angry.

Disturbing the Bat and the Owl: The canary continued to soar and sing until she glimpsed the owl who was still sleeping. She kept singing loudly beside him to wake him up, then flew away toward the dark cave, and stood singing powerfully until she heard a voice coming from the cave calling her, “Oh canary, owner of the beautiful voice, my name is the bat, and perhaps you have not seen me before, and this is natural for I fly at night.” The canary said, “What do you want from me, oh bat?” He said to her, “Your beautiful voice woke me up, and I ask you to sing far from the cave.”

The Arrogance of the Canary: The canary refused what the bat asked of her, so he told her that she must consider the birds and animals whose nature is different, who sleep during the day and wake up to work at night, including the owl too. The canary’s response to the bat was that he must change his nature, and he and the owl should work during the day and sleep at night.

The bat tried to convince her that every bird and animal has a nature that cannot be changed, but the canary did not listen to the bat’s advice, so she returned to singing, and the animals heard her and gathered around her to chant with her. Just as the canary was singing and the animals were chanting with her in harmony and happiness, suddenly the animals stopped singing and ran here and there to hide.

The Canary in the Hunter’s Cage: The canary did not care about what was happening and continued to sing, not realizing the presence of a hunter near her, who had determined her location from her singing and threw his nets on her, until she fell into his trap. The hunter seized the canary and put her in an iron cage and went to his home happily. The canary kept screaming and asking the animals for help.

But how miserable she is. Had it not been for her continuous singing, the hunter would not have known her location, and she went with the hunter to his home. He was happy with the canary’s voice, so he placed the iron cage on the window of his home. The canary was weeping in regret inside her confinement.

Evening came, and the bat came out of the dark cave to start his work at night. He greeted the owl who had also woken up to work at night. While they were talking, they heard the voice of the canary, chanting her song in great sadness. When the bat asked about this sad voice, his friend the owl told him the story of the canary, and how she fell into the hunter’s trap in the morning.

The Bat’s Visit to the Canary: The bat went to visit the canary, and she kept weeping to him about her condition and what had happened to her. The bat told her that if she had listened to his advice, she would not have been a captive in the cage. The canary felt ashamed of herself and promised the bat that she would not sing all day long, and would not disturb others again, but rather learned to think about the comfort of those around her so that she would be safe and not regret.
