There was a wolf named Chandrava. One day, Chandrava was very hungry and couldn’t find any food in the forest. Therefore, he decided to wander in a nearby village looking for food. Immediately, he set off to this village, almost starving from hunger.

But he didn’t expect what he saw there. As soon as he reached the village, a group of dogs from every direction gathered around him, kept barking, and attacked him with their sharp teeth. The wolf decided to save his life by fleeing far from this fortified village by dogs.

He began working to save himself by escaping and running fast, but the dogs kept pursuing him. In an attempt to escape from the dogs, he entered a house belonging to a man who worked washing clothes as his livelihood.

Inside, there was a very large barrel of blue dye. He jumped into it without realizing it, so his entire body was dyed blue. He no longer looked like a wolf. The wolf felt frustrated about this matter. When he came out of that house, he found that the dogs were still waiting for him to pounce.

But what truly amazed him was that when the dogs saw him again, they couldn’t recognize him and felt extreme fear. He appeared to them as an unknown animal, and they were in a state of panic and terror, fleeing in all directions.

The frustrated wolf went to the forest with disappointment and a feeling of hunger again. When the animals in the forest saw him in this blue color, they all fled and were struck by the same state of terror that had afflicted the dogs at the nearby village. They said to themselves: “This is an unknown animal, and we don’t know the strength of this new animal. It’s better to flee.”

When the cunning wolf realized that all the animals around him had begun to fear and dread him, he went to them and said: “Why are you fleeing, you animals? I won’t harm you. I have been sent by the forces of nature to protect you from the evils of the world surrounding you because you don’t have a suitable king living among you who works on your protection and caring for the forest’s affairs.”

He continued: “This is the reason I came here. Come, let’s live in peace in my kingdom under my care.” The other animals seemed convinced by what the wolf was deceiving them with, as they said to him: “From now on, you’ll be king over us, and we await your special orders. Allow us to know everything you want from each of us.”

The wolf began assigning specific responsibilities to each animal, most of them in how to serve him. But he had no relationship with his peers the wolves, and he didn’t want them to come close to him for fear of his matter being exposed. Therefore, he issued an order to expel them outside the forest. This made the other animals’ confidence in his wisdom and sound judgment increase.

Thus, the wolves went from the forest, and only the small animals remained, who would serve him, as well as lions and tigers who would go out to hunt prey and place it before the wolf every day. He would divide it between himself and the other animals.

In this way, the wolf carried out his royal duties, which spread a kind of peace among the animals. But one evening, the blue wolf heard a pack of wolves howling at a distance from the forest. Unable to overcome his natural instinct, the blue wolf began howling like his peers.

When the lion and other animals heard this, they realized how they had been deceived. They became extremely angry at this deceiver. When the wolf realized this, he tried to flee from them, but the animals pursued him and beat him severely. From this story, we conclude the wisdom that says in reality: “A person who treats his people with contempt will surely suffer a bitter end.”
