Sofya used to work with her mother Miranda in making shoes. One day, King Roland sent for Miranda because he wanted royal shoes made new for him. Miranda and Sofya headed to the king’s palace to make shoes for him. Sofya was extremely eager to see the king’s palace. When the king saw Miranda, he admired her and asked for her hand in marriage. Miranda agreed, and the wedding date was set. This appeared to be the end of the story, but in reality, it was its beginning.

Miranda and Sofya moved to the prince’s palace. King Roland held a grand royal wedding for Miranda. Miranda met the two young princes, King Roland’s sons, Prince James and Princess Amber. Prince James loved Sofya, while Princess Amber had treated her with some harshness and arrogance. The king told Sofya that she had become a princess and that it was their custom to always hold a royal celebration to welcome Princess Sofya at the end of the week, and that she must dance with the king.

Sofya felt anxious for she was not accustomed to the life of princesses. When Sofya entered her room, she found it a large room with a wing for reading and another room filled with royal clothes and dresses. Sofya rejoiced greatly, but despite that, she remained anxious about the celebration.

Sofya informed her mother of her anxiety, but the queen, the king’s wife Roland, reassured her. The king gave her expensive royal clothes. The king told her that in the morning she would go to the royal riding school with her prince’s friend to learn there how to behave as a princess.

In the morning, Sofya found James and Amber waiting for her inside a carriage pulled by horses with wings. Sofya was amazed by the horses and asked, “Why do the horses have wings?” Suddenly, the carriage flew to the school. Sofya felt amazed.

When she reached the school, three pretty fairies were waiting to welcome her and took her inside the royal school, as her colleagues loved her. Princess Amber felt jealous of Sofya and set a trap for her by casting a magical arrow. She threw Sofya far away so she would fall inside the fountain’s pool existing in the garden.

James felt he had wronged Sofya and decided not to bother her again. Sofya found a small bird that had fallen from its nest, so she returned it to its place. The bird and its mother rejoiced greatly and sang happily.

When Sofya returned to the palace, she met Master Sidrick, the king’s sorcerer, and asked her to accompany him to the room where he performed his magic. Master Sidrick’s intentions were not good toward Sofya, for he wanted to take from her the wand because it had magical power. He asked her to give it to him to confirm if it was the original wand. Sofya refused because she had promised Roland never to give it to him.

In the morning, Sofya found some birds and tame animals standing on the balcony of her room, and realized that the wand had granted her that ability to help her with the bird.

In the school, the fairies began to teach Sofya how to behave as princesses, but she found difficulty in that and felt sadness about approaching the celebration. Prince James tried to help her learn dancing, while Amber brought her shoes as a gift. Sofya put on the shoes in the dancing lesson, and since she was charmed, she began to jump and spin with Sofya until she fell to the ground. Amber rejoiced because she had bothered Sofya again.

The celebration approached, and Sofya was unable to learn dancing. Therefore, she asked Master Sidrick to give her a magical amulet that would help her with dancing at the celebration. Sidrick gave her a dark amulet and asked her not to use it except on the day of the celebration.

Sidrick wanted to seize the amulet that Sofya had obtained so that through it he could control the kingdom, but he forgot that he would be among the invited ones. On the day of the celebration, when Sofya threw the amulet, everyone fell asleep except Sidrick.

Amber had delayed for the celebration, so she asked Sofya for help. Amber agreed, and the two princes hurried to Sidrick’s house. Sofya also summoned her bird friends to help them bring the wizard Sidrick’s special spell book. Sofya used the opposing amulet to cancel the effect of the first amulet and wake everyone. Amber and Sofya completed the wonderful celebration and lived together with them happily.
