The mouse was on the way home after visiting his cousin in the city, when he lost his balance and fell to the ground. He said in a pained voice: Ouch, notice me today, but no problem, it could be worse.

The mouse composed himself and got up, then continued on his way until he encountered a field. He started running fast in it when he fell into a hole and disappeared completely. The mouse grumbled: Do bad accidents always happen to me? But remember, it could be worse.

The mouse climbed the wall out of the hole and said to himself: I think I need a little rest. As soon as he found a nice and comfortable place for himself, he launched into the air; he had sat on a prickly plant that stung him. The mouse screamed as he pulled the thorns from his backside saying: What is this! What a bad day, all bad things happen to me, but it could be worse.

The mouse descended from the hill until he reached a stream of water and started crossing it, moving from one stone to another. When the mouse fell into the water, he complained and said: I’ll die from the cold, but it could be worse. The mouse swam to the edge of the stream, then climbed it and got out of the water, then shook his body to dry himself. He was about to climb the steep bank when he stumbled again and slid to the bottom of the slope.

The mouse cried a lot and said: My body will be filled with blue and black bruises, but it could be worse. The mouse staggered, then stood on his feet and ran the remaining distance to his home to tell his mother about his bad luck today.

He told his mother as she washed his wounds and bruises: It was a very bad day, I fell into a hole, fell into the river and got wet. His mother answered: You’re okay my son. Suddenly the mouse and his mother heard a cat’s voice screaming outside, as the cat was stuck in the trap the household had set to catch mice. Here the mother said: Thank God my son, and she looked at the trap and continued: There’s something much worse.
