One day there was a small happy family living in a cottage near the forest, consisting of a father, a mother, a boy, and a girl, Hansel and Gretel. One day, the mother became very sick and died. The father married another woman. The stepmother was cruel and didn’t love Hansel and Gretel. One day, Hansel heard his stepmother agreeing with one of the hunters to take the two children with him and leave them inside the forest.

Hansel and Gretel were clever, so they thought and agreed to wait until their father and his wife slept. Hansel went out and collected many small pebbles and put them in a bag and hid it. When morning came and the father went to work, his wife sent to the hunter and gave him the two children.

Hansel started throwing the pebbles during his walk to guide him to the house path. The hunter took them to a far place inside the forest, then left them and left. In the evening, the father returned and asked about his children. His wife told him she was busy cooking, and when she looked for the children, she didn’t find them. Hansel and Gretel followed the pebbles until they reached the house. The father found the door knocking, and when he opened, he found Hansel and Gretel at the door. The father was happy and embraced his children.

The stepmother felt angry but hid it so her husband wouldn’t notice. She plotted to expel them again. That night, she stayed awake to watch the children. She saw Hansel go out to collect pebbles, so she waited until he returned to sleep and stole the bag of pebbles from him. In the morning, Hansel and Gretel looked for the bag of pebbles but didn’t find it, so the two children quickly thought: What should we do?

Each of them was carrying a loaf of breakfast food. So Hansel asked Gretel: What do you think of crumbling the bread into pieces and throwing it during our walk? Gretel liked the idea, and indeed they threw the bread, but unfortunately, birds came down and ate the bread.

When the hunter left them in the forest, Hansel and Gretel tried to return home but couldn’t. They got lost in the forest. The two children felt sad and kept searching in the forest until they found a beautiful cottage made of candy. The two children were amazed by what they saw, then started eating the candy happily. The two children thought about entering the cottage and indeed entered.

Hansel and Gretel found inside the cottage a kind old lady. When she heard them, she welcomed them, fed them, and brought them two beds to rest. But after they slept, the old woman turned evil and imprisoned Hansel inside a cage. She made Gretel a servant, making her clean the cottage, and she kept feeding Hansel so he would fatten up because she wanted to eat him.

Gretel thought about escaping but couldn’t leave her brother. Hansel noticed the evil woman was blind, so he agreed with his sister to make a plan to escape. Every day, the woman would feel Hansel’s hand to see if he had grown and was suitable for eating.

One day, Hansel put a chicken under the evil woman’s hand, so she felt that Hansel had become fat. She asked Gretel to light the fire and put a big pot over it. The evil woman opened the cage door to take Hansel out. Gretel called her and told her she couldn’t light the fire. The old woman went to look, and the two children pushed with all their strength and pushed her inside the pot, put the lid on, and closed it tightly. They ran quickly away from this frightening cottage.

They kept searching inside the forest. Hansel saw a big tree he had seen when he was walking with the hunter, so he knew they had approached the house. They started walking until they reached the house. They found their father overcome with sadness and exhausted from searching for them everywhere and not finding them. When he saw them, he was very happy. The children told him what happened, so he expelled his evil wife, embraced his children, and they lived together in happiness again.
