No matter how painful reality is, there is always a ring of salvation called hope. In the midst of crises, graces come to us that make the sun rise again after the darkness and gloom of the moon.

It is told that near a beautiful lake in western India, there was a beautiful house on the lake’s shore. A small boy lived there with his elderly mother named Ayoubi. On a hot summer day, Ayoub decided to go to the lake behind the house and swim, for the water was beautiful and cold.

Ayoub kept swimming and enjoying the water for a long time, swimming inside it without paying attention to any dangers he faced in the lake. When his mother looked from the house window at the lake, she found her son swimming in the middle of the lake. Before she turned her head, she saw a huge crocodile approaching him without Ayoub realizing that.

She ran quickly toward the lake, shouting at the top of her voice, calling her son to warn him that a crocodile was approaching him. The boy hurried in swimming toward the shore, at the peak of terror. The mother entered the water, trying to save her son. But the crocodile had grabbed the leg of the child Ayoub and started dragging him.

His mother swam, grabbed his hand, and tried to save him from the crocodile’s clutches. A fierce war began between the mother and the crocodile as she tried intensely to save her child. Despite the crocodile being very strong, the mother remained clinging to her son, screaming. At that time, one of the farmers was passing near the lake and heard the mother and son’s screaming.

The farmer hurried toward them, saw the crocodile holding the small one, and shot at it, killing it instantly. Thus, the child Ayoub came out of the water with injuries extremely serious from the effects of the crocodile’s large teeth. Immediately, his mother requested an ambulance, which came to transport the small one.

After Ayoub received treatment for a long period, he survived death. Local newspapers wrote about the incident, and a reporter came to interview the small boy after the accident. She asked him about everything that had happened to him. The boy told her and raised his pants from his leg, showing many scars from the effects of the crocodile attack.

But despite that, he said with great pride to the journalists, “Look at these large scars on my arm.” The reporter asked him, “Why are these scars so large in this shape?” Ayoub answered, “The scars are large on my arm because my mother would never have left me. She insisted on saving me from the crocodile’s clutches. That is why I am proud of having those scars.” Thus is our life: we have scars and traces from the past, and sometimes we do things without realizing their consequences and forget that the enemy is waiting, watching for our weakness.
