Once upon a time, one day there was a group of small birds. They owned a modest nest atop a tall tree. The small birds thought a lot about building a complete nest in the finest manner, as they wanted a beautiful, decorated nest like many of the beautiful homes they saw.

The small birds began thinking about what to make to build a new nest. An idea came to them - not to abandon the nest where they were born and lived a happy life together, but rather to redesign the nest and complete building it in its place instead of looking for another location to build their dwelling and nest.

All the birds were convinced by the idea and distributed the tasks among each other to finish building the new nest in the shortest time and finest manner possible. Indeed, the small birds began early in the morning, each taking their direction to perform their role, which they had agreed to accomplish quickly. Some were responsible for gathering straw, some were responsible for decorating the nest, some were responsible for the nest’s furnishings, and so on with those roles that demonstrated constructive cooperation.

Each of the birds exerted their utmost effort and performed their role in the finest manner. By the end of the day, all the essentials required to accomplish the task of building the nest were gathered. The birds had felt fatigue and great exhaustion. The birds each slept in their places, very pleased and extremely happy despite their fatigue, because they hoped to see a nest without peer at the end.

The birds slept deeply. With the dawn rising, each awakened to complete their actual task and begin building the new nest. Each of the birds began striving at serious work until sunset time came, and everything had indeed been completed. The birds began exploring what they had done together and found that cooperation had yielded beauty, magnificence, and splendor unmatched by anything, like no other nest throughout the entire city.

The birds agreed that all of them would go in the morning to the market to bring essentials for living - water and grains they needed. But when they returned, they were surprised that a large bird had seized their nest and told them it belonged to him and that they were still small and couldn’t do anything.

After the birds agreed to execute a plan to defend their home, they gathered stones from several places and began launching them together at the large bird, who couldn’t repel any of those consecutive blows from many places. He surrendered to them immediately and hurried to his nest without return.
