Maintaining family ties is an important part of the teachings of our merciful religion, for God has commanded us with it at times, and His Messenger at other times, for that bond is what remains for a person, his humanity and his good nature that God has created him upon, but do we all realize this matter?
One day, the wealthy Salam sat behind his desk, and began to calculate some money before him, then patted a bundle of money before him, and smiled with joy as he spoke to himself, and now I can begin the new deal. As soon as he finished his speech, he heard a knock on the door, so he pushed the money away, and asked his servant about the reason for his coming, so he answered him that his relative and cousin Yusuf wishes to meet him, so Salam answered him with extreme and obvious distress, let him enter.
Yusuf went into the office of his cousin Salam, and smiled with extreme warmth and asked about his condition, after greeting him with the Islamic greeting, so Salam answered him with obvious distress, with the greeting, and said to him with obvious coldness and coldness, that he is busy now and does not wish to waste his time.
Here Yusuf became very severe and extremely angry, for he had not come to Salam to request money, or to request some service, he knows that he is extremely wealthy, but he comes to him to ask about his condition, and departs in silence, and he expressed what was inside him to Salam, and told him that were it not that God Almighty commanded us to maintain family ties, he would never have come to him.
So Salam said to him, you all come to me for money only and nothing else, so Yusuf said to him angrily no I did not come here for this purpose, so Salam asked him sarcastically why did you come then? Yusuf answered him I learned that you have withdrawn all your money from the bank because you are about to conclude some deal, so Salam became angry and said to him like this then, you are watching me greedily for my wealth and money, you are all like this no one asks, or maintains family ties but only for the sake of money, and he asked his servant to expel Yusuf. During Yusuf’s exit from Salam’s office, he said to him I have come to you to advise you, not to gamble with your money and happiness in that accursed deal, but Salam did not hear him, and told him that he is the owner of the money, and wishes advice from him.
After what happened, Salam sat thinking about Yusuf’s position, and wondering why he advised him not to engage in that deal. Suddenly a friend of his came, and told him that the deal was completed and he must pay the money, so Salam became tense and said to him, I will not pay except after my business manager reassures me, and here a phone call came to him telling him that the goods had descended to the stores. Here Salam paid the money to his friend, and after this friend departed, Yusuf came to Salam again, so Salam frowned his eyebrows and said to him, why have you come again, if you wish to obtain money, I will not give you a single penny.
Yusuf said to him do you not understand oh Salam, your business manager has sold you and betrayed you, with this friend of yours to take over your money, so Salam sat shocked while extremely sad, my money, my money has been lost, so Yusuf said to him this is the punishment of your tyranny, and your injustice to your relatives and those who maintain ties with you, for God Almighty has said; so will you, if you turn away, cause corruption on earth and cut off your family ties? Those are whom God has cursed, so He made them deaf and blinded their sight, God Almighty spoke the truth.
Salam sat crying regretfully, and said to Yusuf with extreme sadness, truly I was blind and blind of heart, for the noble Messenger has advised us, about the True and Exalted; that God has said, and I am God and I am the Most Merciful I created the family ties, and derived for it a name from My name, so whoever connects it I connect him, and whoever severs it I sever him.
Here Yusuf left the room a little, then returned with Salam’s bag, and opened it before him to find his money having returned to him, so his face beamed with joy, and he asked Yusuf what is this!! So he answered him when I learned about the treachery of your business manager with your friend for you, I followed this man after he left your office, and sent behind him a person he does not know, to replace the bag with your money, with another bag full of old papers, so Salam embraced him while crying and asking him to forgive him, for his bad suspicion of him, and told him that indeed maintaining family ties is what made him a human.
