Trustworthiness is a praiseworthy trait that every polite Muslim who adheres to the teachings of his merciful religion should be characterized by. In its simple concept, trustworthiness means to return every person their right, and to preserve what they own, just as we preserve what we own, for this is one of the foundations of Islam. Trustworthiness was mentioned in the Book of God Almighty, when the Lord of Glory mentioned that trustworthiness must be returned to its people, and the Noble Lord made it a burden for the heavens and the earth, but they refused to carry it, so man carried it. Our master Muhammad, peace be upon him, was the best example for us and a clear evidence of how to return trustworthiness and also preserve it, so we must be adorned with his morals. ...

Having good expectations of God is a worship that many people overlook, even though our merciful religion has commanded us with it, and good expectations means that the servant is pleased with what God has divided for him of destinies, events, and gifts, even if they are against his desire or his current ambition. The servant may arrange for himself some matter, and God delays it for him until he is strongly prepared for it, or God changes it for something better than it, so He prevents from him what he desired, for God’s compensation is always good and will not come except according to the servant’s good expectations of his Lord. ...

There was a trustworthy merchant known among people for honesty and trustworthiness, and he always extended a helping hand and assistance to the poor and needy. He dealt in his trade on three principles: tolerance, love, and trustworthiness, and he traded in beautiful silk fabrics and elegant furnishings, and all his goods were very distinguished, and the price was low because he dealt with trustworthiness, so the price was suitable for everyone. ...

Betrayal is an extremely bad trait, a Muslim should not possess it, for our merciful religion has encouraged us to trustworthiness, and both God and His Messenger have commanded us with it, because it is one of the foundations upon which the nation is built. If you see a people lacking trustworthiness among themselves, know that they do not apply the teachings of Islam, and they will suffer their punishment for betrayal and treachery, for treachery destroys its owner. ...
